Development has started at Kampung Jawa.

The new owner of this Kampung Jawa area land opposite Hatten mall has started to demolish any standing buildings on the land. 

The temple and other operators have also been asked to move out by the dateline.

A mixed development of commercial buildings and shops will be built soon.

ZEBRA CROSSINGS FOR BUNGA RAYA, AND KEE ANN ROADS?

A resident of Kee Ann road has written to the Melaka MBM for painting zebra crossings.

MBMB Technical team has inspected these 3 locations for these 3 proposed locations.

Hopefully the zebra crossings will be painted.

NEW CAR TRAFFIC?

To overcome congestion within Kampung Jawa area, it is possible to change the car traffic flow for Bunga Raya and Kee Ann Roads.

KEE ANN ROAD LIGHTED UP IN FUTURE?

It will be good if we can light up Kee Ann Road Melaka.

The upstairs library space is being populated with books on the library shelves.

Well wishers have also donated table and chairs.

Users can also do their refreshments and drinks at the rear pantry. The WC is accessible here as well.

No cooking is allowed at the pantry area. Only drinks and dry food.

PROPOSED MELAKA NEW CHINATOWN GATEWAY?

We can construct a Melaka New Chinatown gateway at the road entrance of Jalan Bunga Raya.

 

Visitors can drive into our Melaka New Chinatown.

In future, Kee Ann Road Pasar Malam or Food street can be held during the weekends for tourists and locals.

Hopefully, in the future, our Melaka New Chinatown can become a new tourist attraction besides Jonker Walk.

Car park lines at Kee Ann road have been repainted recently.

MELAKA: Efforts to strengthen air connectivity through Melaka International Airport (LTAM) in Batu Berendam will be intensified over the next five years.

The Melaka Legislative Assembly was told on Monday (July 13) that plans include introducing new domestic and international flight routes.

Hameed said the existing runway of LTAM is capable of accommodating Code 4C aircraft, including the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, which have flight ranges of up to six hours.

He said the capability allows the airport to serve major destinations across the region, including Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing in China, as well as India, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

 KEE ANN ROAD BECOMING A TOURIST HUB

Kee Ann Road used to be very busy from 1930s until 1980s because the Central market is located here during this period. 

After the market was shifted out in 1990s, Kee Ann Road is now becoming a tourist hub for visitors to stay for a night or two from outstation.

A few medium priced hotels are located on Kee Ann road like Prima Hotel. 

Other medium priced hotels nearby are Kingston Hotel, Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel, Hotel 1825 and Hallmark Hotel Express ( former Regal Hotel in 1970s ).

Nearby, we have the international class hotel namely Dusit Princess ( formerly Ramada Hotel ).

On weekends, outstation tourist buses can be seen parked outside these hotels.

For food, there are a few kopitiams nearby at Jalan Bunga Raya, Jalan Munshi Abdullah and Jalan Bendahara like JJ Chicken Rice Balls cafe, Nyonya Secrets, popular Lorong Siham, Pork Rice, Bunga Raya Popiah,  Meow Mee Korean cafe, Abstract Japanese cafe and many more.

To visit the world renown Jonker Walk and other historicaland cultural sites, visitors can just walk over the bridge over the Melaka River at Jalan Pasar or Jalan Kampung Jawa.

Health enthusiasts and joggers can always walk or jog along the pathway besides the Melaka River early in the morning or late evenings when it is cooler.

Also, we recommend to take our Melaka River Cruise at night to view the colourful river lights or walk down the river romantically with your love ones.
